Vincent Kompany has revealed he both "liked and hated" playing against ex-Liverpool man Luis Suarez as he named him the most difficult striker he faced.
The former Manchester City captain had many a battle with the Uruguayan superstar and Kompany revealed how Suarez brought the best out of him, but also the worst.
Kompany
"The most difficult striker that I liked – and hated to play against – was Luis Suarez. I had my best and my worst games against him.
"A couple of times, you catch him, and he’s on the floor holding his ankle – you have a pop at the referee whilst he is running off and he’s past your back, scoring a goal.
"And I love that side of the game as well. I’ve played badly against him, but I’ve also had some of my best games and I love that challenge.
“Suarez’s unpredictability was his low centre of gravity. That ball was nearly touching his knees and he was just weaving through. It makes sense when you look at people who probably played a lot on the streets or uneven surfaces – you’ve just got to live with whatever.”
