Wayne Rooney has made a prediction about Liverpool that Jurgen Klopp will certainly hope proves true
Manchester City came out on top for the fifth time in six years last season after overtaking an Arsenal team that led the English top flight for much of the campaign.
The Gunners have responded to that setback by splashing out more than £200m on new signings Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber.
Before the offer for Fabinho, the Reds wrapped up a £95m double deal for Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai as they attempt to improve
Rooney said of the Gunners and their title rivals:
“I thought they had a fantastic season last year and I thought it was a huge step for Arsenal.
“I think the signings that they have made are really good signings to try and kick on by challenging Manchester City because they will be the favourites again to win the Premier League
“I think Liverpool will be better next season. Chelsea will be better. Hopefully, Manchester United will be better as well.
“But I think Arsenal have made some really good signings and I think they will compete again.”
