Klopp has revealed what he asked his Liverpool squad in the dressing room at half-time as they recorded a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest
Liverpool are now four games unbeaten
Having seen his side ultimately struggle for the majority of the season so far, Klopp has admitted the Reds have had no choice but to make changes in an attempt to return to form
Jürgen Klopp:
Things changed. Some things changed. It’s strange to say after a game like this because we didn’t have to defend a lot, but the main difference between Leeds and all the other games is the way we defended,” he told reporters. “It was much better. Ball retained, being compact, which doesn’t mean only high-line but moving the ball side, giving options
I saw a lot of top, top, top counter-pressing moments. I loved that. For us, that is super important. Yes, that changed. I think we are much clearer again in that department.
“We have to prove that again (against West Ham) already. It feels like it changed, for us at least. If you are solid, and not only solid but really good and aggressive and positive in defending, then you can build on that.
“For me, it feels like the first time this season we have that. It’s late but hopefully not too late. Now we have to build on that. The most important thing in football is obviously our results and fighting through this situation today and getting three points.
“You only have to look in the dressing room. The boys are not silly, they know that we were not perfect but they are really happy about that. Three super important points.
“I told the boys at half-time that we had these kind of games hundreds of times where it’s really tough to get through. You have to be patient, stay positive and go for the moment.
“I asked if anybody would be happy if they won the game 1-0 and of course they would. That means we fight and work and play for this one moment where we can decide it.
“In the end, we needed three but that’s fine. Yes, I think things changed. But for consistency and to show consistency we need to keep going.”
