What Jurgen Klopp told players about Liverpool future after finally relenting on dressing room rule

Jurgen Klopp told his Liverpool players that "the sky's the limit" for them going forward in his final team talk as manager.

The Reds boss challenged the squad to dethrone Manchester City next season after Pep Guardiola's side made it four successive Premier League titles

Klopp's side finished their campaign in third and they beat Wolves 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday before an emotional address from the Reds boss

The Liverpool boss has always fiercely pushed back on the idea of cameras inside the dressing room but he relented for his final message

Klopp said:

"I love you, that is what I am able to say,"

“The football you play is ridiculous, I can't wait to watch you developing, making the next steps.

"Coming third, I don't even know yet who became champions? Man City. Well, the only one to stop that was us (in 2020) and who can do that again?

"I said this morning that people might say that is not enough [trophies won], they don't have a clue about football. Could we have done better in moments? Yes, it is always possible.

“But did we do better than you would usually expect? Oh yes, because it takes longer to become a top team again and you did that like this (clicks fingers) and then the expectations and we couldn't keep up the pace, that is the problem a little bit.

"But besides that we come in third in the first season Liverpool 2.0 and from now on with new energy from outside and new influences, with you proving yourself, that is good for squeezing everything out of your career.

"I want to say I love you, thank you for the ride, I am so proud to be a part of this. Thank you very much, and yes, the sky's the limit for you boys, thank you."
