James Milner has revealed how he once left Jurgen Klopp furious as the pair clashed during one of the Liverpool manager’s half-time team-talks.
The 37-year-old joined Brighton & Hove Albion on a free transfer from the Reds last summer, calling time on an eight-season career at Anfield
despite the pair’s strong relationship, that doesn’t mean they never fell out during their time together on Merseyside

“He was pretty good, he was open,” Milner said of the pair’s relationship. “Not so at half-time.
“We had one moment where he was sharing his thoughts and I was sharing mine and I remember him smashing his hands on down the table and shouting, ‘Will you shut the f**k up!’
“But Jurgen was brilliant, we had a great relationship and we were great off the pitch.”
Former Reds defender Ragnar Klavan once shared how Milner and Klopp had almost come to blows.
Klavan
"When Klopp is angry, where did we play?" the Estonian recalled when asked about the Klopp hairdryer treatment on the Betsafe Eesti podcast. "First season. My first season in Liverpool.
"The biggest pressure was around Christmas and at the beginning of January. One time, I don't remember who we played against. Maybe it was against Sunderland away.
"Klopp and James Milner almost started a physical fight. It was the period when there was Boxing Day in England and they almost started fighting but eventually Milner stepped back.
"We saw from his eyes that Klopp would have gone all the way just to prove his point. It was the most stressful time for him as well. He was under a lot of pressure.
"It was my first and Klopp's second year. What are you going to do? You're supposed to be a good coach.
"You are Jurgen Klopp who will make superstars of all players. The pressure started getting to him.
