Ian Wright and Rio Ferdinand have both agreed Mohamed Salah is a superior player to Real Madrid's star winger Vinicius Junior.
Liverpool of course know all too well the quality possessed by Vinicius, having seen the Brazilian score the goal to deny them a seventh European Cup in the 2022 final before bagging a brace at Anfield
Vinicius has been suggested by some as a possible long-term successor for Salah when the time comes for the Egyptian to seek an Anfield exit
Salah has scored three goals and provided four assists in the six matches he has played in all competitions this term
Asked to pick between the two players in terms of overall quality, both Wright and Ferdinand opted to side with the Reds' No.11 due to his longevity at the top-level.
Ferdinand
"They're at different ends of their careers
"Salah is not at the end. I think Vinicius would sit there and I say, 'if I can put numbers up as consistently as Mo Salah has, I will have a great career'.
Wright:
"I think if you go for anything other than Mo, with what Mo has done... What you have to say about Mo is that when Liverpool signed him from Roma you were a bit like ‘Mo Salah?’ But he hasn’t looked back.
"That man has just got in the fast lane and still has his foot on the pedal. That’s why these people are offering crazy money. I’m going to say Mo Salah for what he has done."
Ferdinand added: "Same."
